Transparent, translucent, opaque

This week i learnt what the difference is of shadows,  I learnt that glad wrap the shadow is clear in it, and it is called transparent.  That books had all dark shadow and thats called opaque.  Translucent is where it shines some light through, but it doesnt shine heaps.  I think greenstone is translucent and other rocks are just opaque. 

Magnet fishing

We wern't allowed to go fishing during alert level 4, so we went magnet fishing from our balcony.  We fished into the shed gutters and we caught heaps of rusty nails.  It was quite hard trying to get the magnet to pick up what you wanted.  We made it from a very good magnet and tied a long rope onto the circle bit on the top.  You had to lean over and swing the rope and drop it where you wanted it.  We found out that the magnet was so strong that it got stuck on the roof mostly every time!  You had to pull very hard to get it off the roof.  It didnt pick up the old can, I'm not sure why.

Growing plants

During covid we started growing plants.  We put the seeds in first and covered them with soil.  We watered them and put them in our warming cupboard.  Each day we water them a little bit and take them out and put them in the warm sun near our door.  After a few days they started growing.  They grew each day and now they are getting big.  I think they will be ready in about 2 months.

Getting beach wood

Every day we have been in lockdown, we go and get some firewood from the beach near our house.  We fill the buckets to the very top.  I like to carry 2 buckets because I don't mind and I like to exercise so my muscles can get stronger. After we fill our buckets, we take nice photos with us in the sunset.  One time, mum and Riley and me rolled down the hill, we got very dizzy and felt sick.  Sometimes we go at night because it;s fun at night.

Survival Covid tools with Lego

My mum told me and my brother to make something from lego that would help us survive covid 19.  I made a zapping device that can zap covid away.  My brother made a jet plane that goes 250 miles per hour to escape countries in covid.  It can hold 5 people plus the driver . I enoyed this task.

Poppy Artwork

I looked up poppies on the internet and this is what I found.  I liked this picture because it had heaps of detail.  I copied this picture and made a rainbow background with pencils because I wanted it to be colourful.  I had to make the stems very small.  I tried to make them straight but it didn't work out.  I had to rub out heaps of lines, but I am happy with the result.
